Oceanbridge Indoor Netball Team
Last week we were faced with a sporting challenge. We were scheduled to play a team that had definitely had the better of us in the past having beaten us by a whopping 27 points.
Now that we have the difficulty of last nights game in context, we can go on to say how amazingly we played!
With 7 players, we were playing with only one sub, yet we still managed to push on through!
As we have been playing as a team for quite some time now, we have all been able to find a position on the court that we like and also excel at.
With Luke Barker and Tiffany Gamble in defence we were constantly in the faces of the opposition, never giving them a clear or easy shot at the basket. With Tiffany’s force and Luke’s height they both play a vital part in intimidating the opposing team. They were able to keep the Raccoons score down to a minimal 24 points. Paul T also played in defence, adding to the staunch stance that is our netball team.
Tim Hesketh played Link. He stuck to our usual mid court game of making sure the ball made it all the way down to our shooters, Shanon Carne and Hugh MacKay. These two have really found some great form, never letting us down with their admirable shooting and rebounding skills.
The final score was 24-20 to the Netball Raccoons, a moral victory for Oceanbridge. What spirit we showed!
Attached are photo’s from this weeks game, we won by default but played a friendly game instead.
