On 2nd of November, we had a team of runners/walkers taking part in the Auckland Half Marathon. Including Liz Mahuru, Amanda Chambers, Steve Comber, Stephen Pipes, Marion Barbier, Alister Wishart, Sarah Williams, Natalie Muggleton, Linda Nairn and Paul Todd (with wife Jo). After weeks of training the teams really enjoyed the event on the day, the highlight was being able to run over the Harbour Bridge which we cross so often by car.
 The Wendy’s Santa Run took place in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour area on the 8th of December. The event was held to raise money for Cure Kids, while having a lot of fun of fun and getting into the Christmas spirit! Over 300 people turned out in Santa costumes and took to the streets and bar areas to run the 3kms. We started with a Santa warm up, moves included ‘climbing the chimney’ and ‘riding the reindeer’! Dave (the man from the Wendy’s adverts) was also on hand to give out chocolates to the runners.Our Netball team came second in their division, and we will be getting a netball team together for early next year. Soccer and Touch are halfway through the season, with some good results coming our way already. Other events that Oceanbridge have taken part in are the Huntly Half Marathon and Round the Bays.
We will continue on in the same fashion next year, getting involved in as many sporting events as possible to continue encouraging a fit and healthy lifestyle!
