Oceanbridge Shipping is looking for an additional person to join our small Napier team.

The purpose of this role is to provide high-level service to our customers and provide sales support for the manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Enter, track and follow up orders according to agreed milestones
  • Handle customer enquiries, ensuring all communications are of the highest standard
  • Logistically consolidate FCL/LCL containers for customers
  • Check and approve documentation for the operations and customs teams
  • Complete quotes, costings, and rate cards
  • Customer visits as required
  • Establish reports for customers
  • Support Manager with new sales quoting
  • Ensure customer communications are entered into Cargowise CRM section

Knowledge and competencies:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills
  • Sound knowledge of Incoterms and supply chain systems
  • 2 – 3 years relevant freight industry and product knowledge or a tertiary degree in Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Computer literate. Excel experience is essential. EDI (Cargowise) experience preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

We are looking for import freight operators with a background in shipping or freight forwarding to join our Auckland team. Be part of a successful company where your contribution will be valued. If you have previous international freight experience, we’d love to hear from you.


  • Handling consignments from departure origin through to invoicing, final delivery, and file reconciliation for a dedicated customer base
  • Liaising with customers and overseas agents
  • Liaising with local suppliers including trucking companies, warehouses, and shipping companies.


  • Relevant NZ import experience (Minimum 2 years)
  • A sound knowledge of Incoterms and NZ freight industry
  • Computer literate with good keyboard skills and Cargowise experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with numbers and freight calculations
  • Great customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work to deadlines with resilience to work peaks
